This
baseball/softball batting center has been very
popular since the recent opening of its first branch
in Taipei late last year. The same has been true
for TRK's second branch, located in Taichung not
a few meters from the intersection of TaiZhongGang
(Taichung Kang) and Henan roads. The center attraction
at the spacious 1,300-ping center are state-of-the-art,
imported Japanese batting machines--10 for baseball
and six for softball--which are categorized according
to pitching speeds. Innovations include an LED-display
that shows one's "pitcher" winding up
for his throw, and a VCD machine that allows batters
to record their pitches. There are also three equally
high-tech pitching machines, that gives users targets
to pitch at and records the speed of one's pitch.
Bats and gloves are provided, but members may also
store their personal bats at the center. The cost
for 20 balls is a NT$30 token (7 tokens are provided
for NT$200). There are also various benefits, including
discounts, for those holding NT$500 membership
cards. The center also has a pizza snack bar, a
baseball gear shop, arcade games (like air hockey)
for customers awaiting their turn at bat, and parking
out front. Special activities, like autograph-signing
sessions with the Sinon Bulls baseball team, are
