       Located near the top of Tatu Mountain, this go-karting facility has a twisting, 510-meter track and a dozen British-made Bowman Karts. These vehicles--also imported and sold (NT$140,000 and up) by Rosso--are powered by a 270cc engine and reach speeds of 80 km/h on the track. Drivers get 15-minute sessions, which cost NT$230 before 6 p.m. on weekdays and NT$270 after 6 p.m. and on holidays for Rosso members (NT$2,000/year). For non-members, the respective cost is NT$270/NT$300. Drivers are also provided with a mandatory full-face helmet and head sock (for sanitation purposes). Despite the speed, safety is stressed at the track, with sand and tires lining the track, and flip-proof cars fully equipped with crash guards, roll bars and other features. There are plans to hold race events in a few months and the track direction is switched every month for variety. An overlooking, elevated snack bar serves sandwiches and simple meals in the NT$100 range as well as teas, beers and other drinks. To get there, go up TaichungGang Road to the top of Tatu Mountain and turn left onto YuYuan Road at the Family Mart. A couple of kilometers down the road, turn left down the hill at the next Family Mart and it's on the right, where the wide new Number 3 expressway intersects WuChuan West Road. Alternately, take Wuchuan West Road all the way up the hill, above the Taichung Industrial Park.
