Orgasmo Cafe & Bar opened just last month and offers a wide range of beverages that includes famous Italian Lavazza-brand coffees (NT$100-150) and a series of Mariage Freres teas (NT$130), rare in Taiwan and once only served to French royalty. Of course, this being a bar, it also has 500 c.c. on-tap draft beers like Boddingtons (NT$200) and Stella Artois (NT$230), with a special happy hour (8:30-9:30 p.m.) offer of buy-1-get-1-free on selected beers and all soft drinks. In order to allow local and foreign customers to savor some well-known Taiwanese snacks, the kitchen cooks up a list of dishes like Chou's Shrimp Rolls from Tainan (NT$120), Lien-Hsin Chilled Chicken Feet from Tunghai University (NT$90), and Calamari and Fries (NT$150), served with the owner's secret-recipe tartar sauce. Cocktails recommended by owner Clifton Yang are the Screaming Orgasm (NT$200) and Mojito (NT$220). The very friendly Clifton welcomes guests to bring their own liquor, which can be enjoyed with a corkage fee charged to every table (spirits/NT$1,200, wine/NT$500). This classy cafe and bar also uses a high-end, imported EuroCave Wine Cellar, a wine storage cabinet that keeps both red and white wines at constant proper temperatures. --Written and translated by Ann Lee
A. With a trendy, minimalist ambiance, Orgasmo plays a mixture of Latin jazz, blues and house background music. Apart from fine-quality drinks and food, there is an electronic dart board that offers some extra evening fun and relaxation.
B. The lounge/bar seats a total of about 30 guests. The lively female bartenders love chatting with their customers, adding youthful, lively vibe to this place.
