A couple days ago, friends suggested a visit to Pig Pen, hoping to savor some cocktails, dance a bit, and (if lucky enough), get rid of annoying fat around the tummy. Since then, I have again been addicted to this pub, longing to hang out in there every night. Truly speaking, the time spent in Pig Pen is indeed joyful and reminiscent, as long as you don't have to get up early the next day. Pig Pen has long been the landmark of Taichung's pubs. You can never fully experience Taichung's hot nightlife without a visit to it. The entire building, big as well as prominent, projects the very image of traditional British bar. Ground level is a bar, providing cigars and live broadcast of sports games. Second floor is a dancing hall with free entrance before 9pm. Music features pop, jazz, and reggae. Its DJ is definitely one of the best in town. Wed and Thur are lady's night. Free entrance for girls, $350 for boys. $500 on Friday and Saturday. Sun through Tue $200. Band show times: 10p-10:45, midnight-0.45am, 2am-2:45am.
