Ying Mo

(04) 2451-6222
295, ShangAn Rd, Xitun Dist
Hours: 11:30-2 pm, 5:30-9:30 pm

This restaurant's black building resembles a modern museum while the spacious interior has a peaceful Japanese zen-style ambiance with stone and cedar. Wood fragrances fill the various-sized private rooms, each with garden landscaping, making Ying Mo excellent for meetings, gatherings, family events, and romantic dates. Business lunches start from NT$1,200 and non-menu set meals at the bar starting from NT$1,500. All are prepared by famous Chef Li Chia-chi, known for making western-style Japanese cuisine, available via two-person, nine-course set meals (NT$2,980) that include an appetizer, sashimi combo, white shrimp in soup, grilled fish with sauce, pork rib (vanilla leaf-fed), with a rice straw-smoked flavor and tender texture, plus udon, traditional Japanese thin noodles--cooked and served with a cold bonito soup base, seaweed and fish bone, and fresh and flavorful ayu (sweet fish) with egg roe in a soup bowl, perfect for the summer. Diners spending NT$5,000 or more can accumulate points, and there is a lucky-draw event for a round-trip to Osaka. --By Uvia Chang, translated by Anna Yang
