Part of the Japanese-owned Kitchen Bulldog restaurant group, Curry One is a reasonably-priced, casual dining spot mainly focusing on Japanese-style curry and hamburger-steak entrees that are mostly unique from the original Kitchen Bulldog. As opposed to the latter's milder flavors, Curry One's curry has a more authentic, stronger, lingering taste. All entrees include a salad, soup and drink. There are also desserts like the Bulldog Classic Sundae (NT$120), beers and other soft drinks. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Angela Cheng

A. The Hamburger Steak Omelet Curry Rice (NT$300), served with a mixed beef/pork or all-pork patty, is a top choice together with the Beef Curry Rice (NT$260), featuring tender pieces of beef cooked first and them mixed with curry for an extra flavorful effect.

B. Three original Kitchen Bulldog favorite entrees are still available here, such as the pictured Bulldog Hamburger Steak Set Meal (NT$280).

C. Despite its main-road location, Curry One is in a tranquil, quiet corner, with glass walls bringing in lots of sunlight.
