Situated near the National Museum of Natural Science, Dine Lao Hotpot offers healthy, light, personal hotpots. Whether you are eating alone, with a partner, friends, relatives or colleagues, this is an ideal option for a Mongolian hotpot dining experience. The restaurant serves three types of hotpot meals: Meal A (NT$220) includes a selection of either beef, pork, lamb or chicken; Meal B (NT$280) is a seafood hotpot; and Meal C (NT$330) is a combination of meals A and B. Kid meals and vegetarian hotpots are also available. --By Ruby Wu, translated by Naomi Lai
A. Dine Lao Hotpot's interior decor is characterized by a luxurious black-and-silver color theme often found in chic cafes. The first floor is mostly for individual, personal hotpots. This and the second-floor area give the restaurant a capacity of up to 220 people.
B. Meal C (meat slices and seafood) gives you a chance to enjoy everything at once. For the broth, you can select either the white stock, the red (spicy) stock, or both. The white stock is brewed from cow bones with added herbs such as cardamom and black cardamom; the red stock is based on the white stock with added spices and various peppers to bring out a spicy, but light, flavor. The beef is best cooked in the spicy red stock, which accents the meat's tenderness and natural flavors. Included in the meal is a lobster salad seasoned with a dash of wasabi and a handmade squid paste. |
