As U.S.-style sushi rolls are becoming more of a trend in Taiwan, Gunman is straying from strictly traditional Japanese fare and offering a little something different to its customers. Gunma's main focus are their dressings, seasoning spices, and condiments, which customers can use to jazz up choices like sushi rolls and sashimi. The restaurant offers American-style sushi options that are rolled up with fresh fruit and vegetables. --By Eve, translated by Ann Lee
A. The California Salmon Roll (NT$220/8 pcs) is made with fresh salmon pieces that are grilled and then smeared with yolk sauce and cheese. Finally, they're stuffed with layers of crunchy lettuce and topped with colorful salmon roe.
B. Italian-style Sashimi (NT$220) is made with grilled fish. The sashimi is also stuffed with Romaine lettuce, onions and tomatoes, and comes with Italian-style vinaigrette and black pepper. These rolls are not only nice to look at, but also have a wonderful flavor.
