Yuan Fang Restaurant is a great place to try delicacies like shark's fin, lobster, abalone, and bird's nest. Originally established in Taipei in 1993, the chain's owners opened up a Taichung branch late last year. For seafood, try their Shark's Fin Meal Set (NT$800+), Classic Emperor's Special, Extra Large Shark's Fin, Australian Abalone, or their Baked/Steamed Lobster. Chef's recommendations include Swallow's Nest for dinner and Snow Clam with Coconut Milk for dessert. They also serve other favorites like Matsusaka Pork, Lobster with Pumpkin, and Italian-style Chicken with Cheese. The set meals come with salmon fried rice, beef/chicken/fish ribs, salad, dessert, fruit and a beverage. For vegetarian diners, they serve a Vegetarian Meal Set (NT$680/980). Their most exquisite table dishes run from NT$8,000 to 25,000 each!
