Restaurant Mizumi Kaikan

Restaurant Mizumi Kaikan

525, DaDun 11th St; (04) 2389-3299
Hours: 5:30 pm-1:30 am
Credit cards accepted. 10% service charge

The modern Japanese restaurant Mizumi recently opened a second restaurant, Mizumi Kaikan, in a quiet residential area around DaDun 11th Street. Two large fish tanks, full of fresh seafood, look down on the counter seats, which are also surrounded by an open kitchen area. The restaurant offers set meals starting at NT$1,200 but, after 9:30 p.m., they also offer an a la carte menu for late-night customers. To relax after work, try their Korean Tuna Salad (NT$280), which includes great selection of Shochu; the lightly broiled tuna melts on your tongue and the spicy Korean sauce compliments the flavor of the fish. If you want to have something simple and easy on your stomach while enjoying a beverage or two, try the Seafood Hot Pot with Rice (NT$280). The balance between rich seafood and light broth is just perfect to satisfy your late-night cravings. Other eye-catching items include: Clam Tempura (NT$180), Beef Tongue Nigiri Sushi (NT$120/piece), and Ice Cream Tempura (NT$160). --By Yukari, translated by Ann Lee
