Housed in a nice-looking white building near the Art Museum Parkway, Mi Piace ("I like" in Italian) is pleasant Italian eatery opened by three long-time friends, Doris, Jane and Mandy. This was a DIY project for the trio, who personally did everything from designing the menu to painting the bright yellow walls and cutting the green and red tablecloths. The attractive, European-style interior has plenty of seating on two floors and a relaxing ambiance. The easiest way to enjoy a meal is with the NT$325 Set "A" meal, with appetizer, soup or salad, pasta or risotto main entree, coffee or tea, and dessert; a NT$215 Lunch Menu (until 2 p.m.) is very similar. The NT$525 Set "B" has all of the above, with a choice of any main entree, such as the Veal Italienne (NT$380 a la carte), Pollo Alla Romana (NT$280) or one of the nine-inch pizzas. Many dishes offer "regular" and "large" prices, with the latter being a double portion--such as the Lasagna (NT$220/NT$320) or Caesar Salad (NT$130/NT$220). Other favorites include the Seafood Risotto in Aurora Sauce (mixed cream and tomato), and Baked Penne, with chicken, seafood or vegetables and a cream or tomato sauce. Finally, there's the tiramisu or panna cotta (NT$55) desserts, coffees (NT$115), teas, smoothies, wines and beers. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
