(04) 2452-5858
20, Lane 234, ChiShan Rd., XiTun District
Hours: 11 am-10 pm
No service charge. Credit cards not accepted. Free lunch parking.

This cozy little place is named after the 16th arrondissement, or district, in Paris and does its best to recreate the ambiance that neighborhood is famed for. The Western-style restaurant is part of the chic boutique hotel Le Parker, and is located on the ground floor, facing onto a quiet street only 50 meters from the extreme hustle and bustle of the Feng Chia shopping district. Inside, there are 26 seats with a good view through a glass wall, looking onto 20 more sidewalk cafe seats (good for smokers). The simple, reasonably-priced selection includes main courses like Spicy Thai-Style Squid Ink Pasta (NT$220), Cordon Bleu Cheese Pork Chop Rice (NT$250) and Mediterranean Cod Fish Fillet Rice, with prices inclusive of salad, bread, soup, dessert and drink. There are also cheaper pasta entrees like Tomato Clam (NT$140), Basil Crab (NT$160), and Seafood (NT$180), plus hot-pot options (NT$250), salads, appetizers and desserts. Teas, coffees and juices are NT$80-120. Area 16 also offers business lunch and teatime specials. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
