ANDREW INDIAN RESTAURANT

(04) 2326-7075
1017, JianXing Rd
Hours: 11 am-2:30 pm, 5-10 pm
No service charge. Credit cards accepted.

A bright-red facade matches the equally eye-catching red-and-white interior, with cherry-red chairs offset by white tablecloths and a single chandelier. The restaurant seats 50, including outside tables where patrons may smoke. Thanks to a glassed-off open kitchen, diners can watch the three Indian chefs--respectively specializing in curry, tandoori cooking, and pastries--at work. The menu selection is slightly smaller than the original restaurant's but all dishes are identical in taste. The good variety of dishes includes items like Andrew Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Tikka and wide range of vegetable, dal, chicken, lamb and seafood curries, plus various roti breads and Indian desserts. The NT$199 Commercial Lunch offers a choice of any curry, plus soup, bread or rice, and soft drink. Reservations are recommended. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
