The latest entry into Taichung's booming Western breakfast market, Our House, is run by Deshea stone and Anne Hu and, quite literally, located in a house on the lane directly behind the old Sogo II (and World Gym) building. As a result, you truly feel like you're enjoying breakfast in someone's large, comfortable dining room, perhaps reading a newspaper over some all-you-can-drink coffee as Deshea and Anne bustle around the kitchen making breakfast. There are a number of good breakfast options available all day Saturday and Sunday, with the NT$250 Breakfast Burrito (scrambled egges, cheese, sausage and bacon wrapped in a flour tortilla, served with homefries) and the NT$250 3-Egg Omelette (served with toast and sausage or bacon) being favorites. Other equally-hearty choices include The Day Pass (NT$200 for unlimited pancakes, waffles, toast or French toast plus homefries) and the NT$200 Sampler (2 eggs, 3 pieces bacon and 2 sausages, plus choice of a 1 pancake, French toast or regular toast). Regular waffles (NT$150) come with whipped cream, powdered sugar or syrup toppings. The all-you-can-drink Mojo-blend coffee, or iced tea, is NT$50. There is comfortable seating in the upstairs kitchen area and downstairs lounge. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Picker Chen
