For this shop, the chairman of the Taichung Health Promotion Association uses imported "Bei Zhang Tan" charcoal--reputed to soak up toxins--from Japan, along with local organic soybeans and black beans to promote an all-organic diet. The goal behind the creation of this place was the elimination of pollutants we take in during our daily lives. All ingredients come from selected organic farms certified by the Council of Agriculture. Yams and Vegetable Rolls (NT$35) are on the top of this list. Yams help digestion and are good for breakfast. The Organic Lotus Root soybean dessert (NT$35) uses lotus root powder to congeal soybean juice, so that there are no artificial elements. Assorted Grain Balls (NT$30) are served with brown rice, pearl barley, lotus seeds, buckwheat, oats and other items. The stuffing includes fried, dry turnips and mushrooms together with other vegetarian ingredients, and are healthy as well as tasty. Bei Zhang Tan-related products and enzymes can also be found here. --By Tammy Huang, translated by Sho Huang
