FATTY'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT

(04) 2319-4898
1, Lane 50, JingCheng Road
Hours: 11:30 am-10 pm

Almost exactly six years after first opening, Fatty's Italian Restaurant has re-opened "bigger, better and nicer", according to Dutch owner and veteran restaurateur Hendrik Frijling. The new Fatty's indeed bears little resemblance to its old self, after almost doubling in size (with 85 indoor seats) to include the adjacent corner with JingCheng Road. Inside, first-floor diners look out onto the road through large, ceiling-to-floor glass windows. The decor has completely changed, too, with a more modern, cooler ambiance created with black mirrored glass wall and ceiling panels, Art Deco-style lamps, lighter-colored walls and custom-made white tables and counters. The upstairs is divided into a regular dining area and a more romantic, cozier area with booth and table seating for couples. Old and new customers will be happy to hear that Fatty's extensive, popular selection of pastas, pizzas, salads, appetizers and desserts remained mostly unchanged, except for the addition of three new pizzas, three new pastas and a new appetizer (Deep-Fried Shrimp with Lemon Chili Sauce). These include the Pasta Primavera (with fresh tomatoes, olive oil, white wine and fresh mozzarella cheese), "Super Mix" Pizza (NT$430), World Cup-inspired Italian Champion Pizza (NT$380), Meat Ball Carbonara (NT$360), and Lemon Chicken in Light Cream Sauce (NT$330).
