Apart from giving mom a nice present on Mother's Day, don't forget to bring her a cake. The decade-old Sugar & Spice bakery cafe has always insisted on the best ingredients and strictest quality control. Using Japanese-style baking methods, cake layers are distinct and rich, low in sugar and refreshing to the palate. Although these cakes are satisfying, you won't need to worry about your waistline. The Raspberry Coconut Mousse (8-inch NT$780) is a raspberry jelly with coconut mousse that can be enjoyed ice-cold, with the texture of ice cream, or smooth like mousse when it has been defrosted, for two distinct experiences. The Passion Fruit Cheese Mousse (8-inch NT$750) has a combination of passion fruit mousse, two cheeses with different densities and vanilla seeds to create its classic flavor. The natural sweetness of passion fruit is a perfect partner for the richness of cheese. Made from Bailey's Irish Cream, cheese, yogurt and caramel, the Bailey's Cheese Cake (8-inch NT$880) as well as the Vanilla Chocolate Mousse (NT$780) are both excellent choices.
