Chili Cheese Cake and its delectable pastries
are the creation of two friends, Rebecca Liao and Yvonne Chen.
After trying a lot of cheese cakes in Taipei, Taichung and
elsewhere, the two women decided that they still preferred
their own cheese cake--an opinion shared by their friends
and relatives. So, they opened this shop, which specializes
in offering six-inch cheese cakes, as well as
dry fruit cakes and chocolate brownies. The cheese cakes come in regular, blueberry lemon and
coffee flavors. With a one-month reservation, customers can
also sample a flavor never before seen in Taiwan--the Blue
Cheese Cheese Cake, made with blue cheese carefully
selected for proper aging. The owners say its saltier, quiche-like
flavor makes it good with red wine. They add that a spicy,
chili-flavored cheese cake is also under development. Rebecca
and Yvonne say that their cheese cakes stand apart because
they use heavier, top-quality, all-natural ingredients. Currently,
all of Chili Cheese Cake's cakes are for take-out only, but
the store does arrange next-day deliveries anywhere in Taichung
or on the island for an extra NT$150, or for free if the order
exceeds NT$3,800. The store is located just off of YingCai
Road, just a few meters from TAITRA's Taichung office. |
