--By Niang Chen, translated by Cara Steenstra
This restaurant has gathered a few dozen of
the best Sichuan chefs and put their culinary skills on display
to create 17 different types of hot pots. These include Spicy
Crab Hot Pot, Yang Lang Chicken Hot Pot, Beer Duck Hot Pot
(limited to five hot pots) and Luo Han Hot Pot (a vegetarian
hot pot; advance reservations required). All of the NT$395
all-you-can-eat hot pots are freshly made with the finest
ingredients and are uniquely attractive in unique ways. The
Pickled Vegetables with Fish Pieces Hot Pot has the red "gouqi"
Chinese herb added to it and is one of the most popular dishes,
as the delicate Rainbow Bar fish tastes deliciously sweet
with the herbs. There are also over 10 exclusive appetizers,
such as the Jasmine Green Fish Skin, KouShui Chicken and Spicy
Duck's Feet. The fragrant Sesame Cakes have a crispy sesame
outer layer and are soft and warm on the inside. The Shanghai
Spring Onions with Noodles is just right. The spring onions
are not overwhelming, and tempt diners into eating mouthful
after mouthful. Thanks to Quan Ba Zi Hot Pot Restaurant's
arrival, there is no need for Taichung gourmands to travel
to China or Taipei to enjoy outstanding gourmet hot pot. |
