Along TaiYuan Road--about 300 meters after
passing through the BeiTun Road underpass while heading towards
Taiping City--you'll see many cars parked on the roadside.
Their owners are all there for the famed Vietnamese Restaurant.
The restaurant's specialty is fresh seafood, such as especially-tasty
Soft Shell Crab, each only for NT$80. The owner recommends
their sashimi, imported from Japan. A piece of sashimi with
a layer of roe can be eaten without any sauce to enjoy the
natural flavors (one 10-piece dish is NT$250). The restaurant
also serves a Vietnamese national treasure, the bamboo fish,
for only NT$400. Another very special treat here, ordered
by almost all customers, is a hot pot dish, the famous "Round
Codfish Head Pot" (NT$600). This very large hot pot is
packed with various ingredients and almost guaranteed to leave
diners feeling very satisfied.
