This buried little treasure can be found
in the World Trade Center area of Taichung. Open from 10 a.m.
to 10 p.m., it is especially bustling in the evenings with
diners as well as those using the Internet at computers in
the back corner. While certainly not a fine-dining experience,
the friendly staff at this busy family restaurant serves up
authentic Vietnamese food that is both tasty and inexpensive.
The Pho Ga (chicken rice noodles), for NT$60 is a massive
portion of flavorful soup flavored with basil and onions.
The Bun Cha Do (spring rolls) can be ordered either cold or
deep-fried. For only NT$60, three rolls generously packed
with shrimp, noodles and vegetables are great value. The Goi
Ga (chicken salad) is a nice summer option with shredded cabbage,
peanuts and chicken pieces, tossed with a zesty dressing of
fish sauce and just the right amount of spice for only NT$50.
The combination of a pleasant staff, affordable prices and
delicious food make Quan An Viet-Nam an ideal choice for authentic
Vietnamese in Taichung.
