Amici's generates an ambiance that usually only comes from
a street cafe in Rome. There are three Amici's in Taiwan,
one of which is in Fengyuan. The inside of the restaurant
is colored with a happy yellow; a giant print of Van Gogh
hangs on the wall, and there are trendy art deco lights. The
fact that the menus are in both English and Chinese and that
most of the waitresses are bilingual also draws a fairly international
crowd to the tables here. Most who eat at Amici's praise the
Lasagna (NT$170), a traditional dish with layers of noodle,
cheese, and tomatoes. Hors d'oeuvres such as the Cheese Bread
(NT$60) or the salad with fresh mango dressing drizzled over
greens (NT$100) are also mouth-watering but must be ordered
separately. Portions tend to be conservative, so don't hesitate
to try the tiramisu for dessert. No doubt Da Vinci would have
been proud.
