With the arrival of warmer spring and summer temperatures, BJ's is bound to grow in popularity with diners who enjoy its pleasant open-air ambiance. Located on the ground floor of the restaurant/shopping/parking building opposite Peoples' Square, BJ's is a deli-style place with a bar, umbrella-shaded sidewalk tables (candle-lit at night) and a cozy indoor area with about 18 seats and a lot of cute stuffed toy bears (BJ stands for "bear jungle"). Originally known as Tomato, this eatery is now has a new manager, Angela Tsai, and an upgraded menu. In addition to the original selection of six-inch submarine sandwiches--like Ham Cheese (NT$70), Roast Beef (NT$80) and Turkey Breast (NT$95)--and other standard sandwiches.

BJ now has various hot dogs (NT$55-80), from the Original to the Mexican Chili Dog. Those wanting German-style sausages instead of local "dogs" only need to add NT$10 to menu prices. Add NT$40 to NT$60 to main-course prices for the addition of soup and/or chips and a drink. Also new is a much-expanded drink menu that includes iced/hot flower teas (NT$35 medium/NT$40 large), milk teas, fruit teas, various coffees, beer (NT$60), juices, sodas, and Snapple (NT$45). All items are also available for take-out.
