As you walk into 5-1 Music & Wine, you will first notice three seating areas on the first floor. However, you will be taken by surprise when you enter the basement. There are altogether nine large sofa areas, each separated into its own private, little haven by a gold-colored organza. There is a small performance area near the entrance, where a musical duo performs every evening from 12 a.m. till 2 a.m. Soft music is played at other times. A rather large choice of red wines, white wines, brandies and whiskeys is available, with prices not much different from most lounge bars. Their Red Wine Tenderloin (NT$450), German Pork's Knuckle (NT$450) and other delicious snacks all come highly recommended. If you are just here with one or two friends, you can choose the first floor as it does not charge you for service. For a more intimate evening, try the basement sofa area; there is no charge for the sofa area and the minimum charge per person is only NT$350. Although it is located at the busy JingCheng Road area, near DaDun 20 Street, it is not too difficult to find parking after 9 p.m.
