Grand View Cafe is located on the second floor of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. Metal-colored C-shaped boards are suspended from the ceiling, while orange tables, white chairs and silver string curtains create a modern visual effect. From the cafe, one can watch visitors lingering in the museum, and there is a Senseio Bookstore next door, making you feel like you have unlimited cultural treasures at your fingertips. This cafe, which opened in late October, is operated by the Grand View Hotel. The uniformed staff look elegant and the menu, provided by the hotel's central kitchen, has high, consistent quality. Coffee, drinks, cakes and food are all delicious and nicely presented. The set meals are not expensive: a spaghetti, soup and drink set costs NT$220, and the submarine sandwich and drink set is NT$150. A waffle or sandwich and drink costs NT$180, while a cake and drink set costs NT$130. In the mornings, the breakfast set ranges between NT$80 to NT$100. --Written and translated by Grace Pan
