In House is a large, stylish restaurant by day and a swank lounge bar at night, after 9 p.m. Day or night, patrons can enjoy the spacious interior, featuring 10 comfortable sofa areas and other nice touches, including big long windows, a lot of tropical plants, a corner skylight seating area and a water curtain in the back by the equally-striking restrooms (the ladies' room has a plush red velvet sofa). For lunch and dinner, the extensive menu offers dozens of mostly-Western salads, main-course entrees, pastas, rice dishes, hot pots, sandwiches and snacks. Larger entrees include beverage, bread and other side dishes. A sampling includes the popular Bosnia Roast Spring Chicken (NT$380), the New Zealand Fillet Steak (NT$480), Baked Seafood in French Cream Sauce (NT$250), and the Lobster Hot Pot (NT$450). After 9 p.m., there is a separate dining menu offering dishes like the Scallop with Kiwifruit (NT$280) and Thai-Style Spicy Beef (NT$200). During this time, there is a per-person NT$300 minimum charge, and the sofas may be reserved for NT$2,000 (4-6 persons) or NT$3,000 (10-12 persons). Not surprisingly, there is plenty to drink, including NT$180 large bottles of beer (Kirin, Bud, Corona), large 100cc test tube shots (NT$300-450 for 8), NT$200 cocktails, champagne, Scotch whiskies and other spirits. Nightly from 9:45 on, there are five live music sets (from jazz to rap), interspersed with lounge, chillout and other music from DJs Nike and Jason. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Jean Huang
