Art Street residents were left with a gaping hole in their dining routines when Papa's Italian Restaurant--the original tenant at this address--shut down. But, in true Taichung style, the area's newest restaurant, Tuscany, has already filled the void and comes complete with a large stuffed bear watching for customers out the front window. The atmosphere is pleasant and unobtrusive and the staff are friendly and courteous. The menu is broad, covering all your dining needs, from business lunches through to teatime waffles (NT$150-180) and dinner. Pastas take up a sizeable part of the menu and range from NT$180 to NT$220. Add NT$120 to get soup, salad, dessert and a drink. To splurge, choose one of the set meals, such as the German Style Ham Hock (NT$560) or French Lamb Chops with Mint Sauce (NT$620). And don't forget the side dishes, featuring Western favorites Caesar Salad (NT$180), Onion Rings (NT$80) and Buffalo Wings (NT$120). --By Lea Zeltserman, Translation by Blankie Hsu
