This swanky-looking Japanese chain restaurant has opened its first branch in central Taiwan following a number of successful outlets elsewhere, mostly in Taipei. Seating about 120 in a modern Japanese building with upscale decor, the restaurant focuses on authentic-flavored Japanese set meals, plus a large selection of contemporary Japanese desserts, snacks and drinks. Main meals, which include soup and side dishes, include noodle, chicken, beef and other dishes, like the Tea-flavored Chicken Rice (NT$339). Sure to be a hit with those looking for light, healthy meals are a number of smaller selections including noodle, rice, tofu, seafood and other choices, which also come with a couple of little side dishes. As the window showcase outside illustrates, there are all kinds of tasty-looking Japanese desserts, including the Kakigori shaved ice varieties, mochi, ice cream, and fruit bowls. In typical Japanese style, everything, from main meals to desserts, is attractively and artistically presented and served. Drinks include hot and iced coffees, teas, sodas and juices. Azabu Sabo is located very close to the Gong Yi/Dung Shing roads intersection.
