Located
at the end of Soho Street in what used to be Bonita Senorita
Mexican Restaurant, Corner Bar is the creation by veteran
bartender Shao Hei, who has over 10 years of experience
working in popular places like Oldies. The basic layout
of the place remains the same with a comfortable two-sided,
indoor/outdoor bar, inside tables and a TV above the bar.
When the weather gets warmer, there will also be tables
outside where customers can hear planned live musical performances.
Beer is around NT$100 for small bottles and NT$150 for
large Kirin and other bottles. A good variety of cocktails
range in price from NT$120 for standard drinks, like vodka
lime, up to NT$350 for special drinks. This includes a
Shao Hei invention, the "Water and Fire" cocktail
(NT$300), which is downed with two separate glasses (including
one that is lit on fire) and goes down with a uniquely
hot and cold sensation. For food, there is lasagne and
two types of pasta—with cream cheese or tomato sauce—for
NT$120, as well as some simple beer snacks like clams.
Soho Street is located off of Da Yeh Road, about half-way
between Jing Cheng and Dung Shing roads. – By Douglas
