Peach
Blossom is already a popular chain of teahouse restaurants,
thanks in large part to two popular outlets along the Wuchuan
Parkway. Now, there are two more outlets, a restaurant and
teahouse respectively located on the 15th and 16th floors
of the recently reopened Sogo Department Store. In keeping
with the Peach Blossom's other branches, the decor at both
places is classy and attractive. The restaurant, which seats
about 70, has a modern Asian look to it, with dark wood furniture,
hanging wicker lamps, Buddhist motifs, rough floors made from
what looks like old railroad ties, and a wonderful view of
the city. The menu is simple, with eight main courses (NT$158-248)
like Indian Chicken Curry, Japanese Suckling Pig Curry, Italian
Cheese Tender Butter Chicken, Chinese Yam Stewed Pork Chops,
and Korean Ginseng Stewed Chicken Soup. Upstairs, the 50-seat
teahouse is a cool, chic oasis, with hanging red, square Chinese
lamps; chunky dark-wood furniture; antique mainland Chinese
doors; and bamboo screens. There is a full menu of red, green,
light green, milk, flower and fruit teas, Cantonese dim sum-style
snacks, and light meals. There are also some rice, noodle
and hot pot meals, and a NT$128 tea time deal (2-5 p.m.).
