This large new restaurant has a strikingly modern, vogue-ish design that is so popular among many new Taichung teahouses. There is plenty of bare concrete, mixed with metal bars and contrasted with fountains, water and bamboo. Inside are high ceilings, comfortable tables and upstairs balcony area with more tables, including large, round 12-person ones. However, this place, located on Gung Yi Road between Jing Cheng and Dung Shing roads, is a dedicated restaurant serving a full menu of Hong Kong-style delicacies, prepared by chefs from that city. Popular dishes include Meat with Leeks and Black Soy Beans (NT$200), Steamed Cod Fish with Plum (NT$280), Chicken with Cantonese Special Sauce (NT$240), Pork with Californian Peach (NT$220), Fried Bread Sticks with Prawn Sauce and XO Sauce, and Fresh Lily with Asparagus. There are also very reasonable set meals for lunch and dinner, which cost NT$168-188 and include a choice of main course, three side dishes, salad and soup. There are four basic hot pot specials--Japanese, curry, spicy cabbage, and a mixed, flavored soup. There are also afternoon and evening tea time specials from 2 to 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Another plus is the restaurant parking lot.
