VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
The popular little Red Lion is not quite so little anymore, now
that it has moved to a much-larger location on Hsiang Shang South
Road, within 50 meters of Tatun Road. The two-floor establishment
has 80 seats, including eight cozy four-person booths upstairs.
On the first floor, the front area includes a well-stocked, attractive
bar, while the larger back area features a large-screen TV and open
kitchen. The menu is very extensive and starts with uncooked items
like five types of sashimi (NT$100), shellfish, raw oysters (NT$70)
and Italian Seafood Salad (NT$150). The main-course menu has items
like Grilled Dumplings (NT$100), Baked Mushroom Rice Balls (NT$80),
and Seafood and Rice. This is followed by grilled dishes, including
chicken leg, heart, skin and intestines (all ordered separatedly),
and Cuttlefish Herb Rolls. Japanese-Style Mackerel (NT$100), Lamb
Chops, and Beef Ribs are among other baked and grilled dishes. There
are also fried and steamed dishes, plus soups like the Ginseng Chicken
Soup (NT$120). The restaurant puts an emphasis on preparing all
items with quality, hotel-standard incredients. As noted above,
the bar is also very well-stocked, with beers and all sorts of high-end
spirits, including seven types of vodkas, three tequilas, and 18
brands of whiskey.
