Cafe Blu and The Blu champagne bar are respectively located on the first and second floors of the striking glass tube on Tiger City mall's outdoor plaza. Both establishments take an upscale minimalist approach to decor, with white leather seats, plenty of glass and chrome, and blue lighting at night. Cafe Blu offers coffees, teas, juices and icees. Upstairs, The Blu is Taichung's only dedicated champagne bar, with 20 varieties--such as Moet e Chandon and Dom Perignon--showcased in a glass-and-steel "cellar". The Cartier house champagne goes for NT$400/glass, while the bar sells wines, cocktails and other drinks from about NT$250 and up. Up to 67 diners can enjoy lamb chops, seafood skewers, grilled beef, salads, soups and other fare (last order 11 pm). There is some light live music nightly from 9 to 11 pm. Exhibitionists won't want to miss the glassed-in, third-floor restroom.
