The owner of Teng Hai is not afraid to admit that in addition to food he sells beautiful views. Except for the recently opened Taichung Metropolitan Park, there are no buildings for miles around, just vast green spaces. When the weather is good it is possible to see some of the mountains of Nantou County. This restaurant is completely outdoors, so it is only open in good weather. Here, guests can enjoy a summer barbecue. Just order your food and place it on the grill yourself (about NT$140 per person). Or, if you don’t want to cook, there are stir-fry dishes from NT$80, different kinds of chicken soup (NT$400 per pot), ‘three cups?chicken (NT$350), and pork dishes (NT$120). Taiwan Beer sells for NT$20 and draft beer for NT$70.
