This South Pacific-themed beerhouse is located close to the runway of Taichung’s domestic airport, but live musical performances drown out the sound of planes taking off. The outdoor dining area provides good nighttime views. Popular menu items include Thai-style sweet and sour chicken (NT$295), egg rolls (NT$210) and Taiwanese-style grilled seafood dishes, as well as Japanese-style grilled eel. Sasaya’s chef is from Singapore, so authentic Singaporean dishes are also available. So, as not to let people think that beerhouses are for single people only, Sasaya has built a children’s play area. There is also a separate bar area that serves beer (NT$90-NT$135) and cocktails. During the summer, buy three cocktails and get one free or buy two bottles of liquor and get one free.
