This three-story restaurant is decorated in early-Taiwanese style, with such things as wooden telephone poles common years ago. From the 2nd floor patio dining area there are good views of Taichung, especially at night. This restaurant serves authentic Taiwanese-style chicken (NT$500 for whole chicken), ‘moss fish' (NT$150), herbal soup (NT$230) and the award-winning Cream of Wheat Shrimp (NT$380). Hung Lu Cha Ku offers a very reasonably priced deal. Choose any eight dishes for just NT$1,000.
