If it's big portions of tasty Italian food you're looking for, Fatty's offers just that.  Henrik Frijling, former general manager of the Grand Formosa Taichung Hotel, has returned to Taichung after a stint in Hong Kong, this time to run an Italian eatery with his partner, Jenny. The menu offers a good variety of pastas, pizzas and entrees, plus desserts, coffee, wines, soups and other items. There are daily fresh-made pastas, resulting in dishes like Rigatoni Bolognese, Linguine Pesto, Fettucine Salmon and Ravioli with Cream Sauce. The portions are all very big and come with delicious bread and salad, making them well-worth the mid-range prices--about NT$280 to NT$320. The very pleasant ambiance includes sidewalk, cafe-style seating and a first and second floor. Fatty's is located in what used to be Cafe Piazza, directly opposite Finga's Fine Foods on a quiet, pleasant lane.
