If we had to choose three experts who know the best places to visit in Taichung, the answer would be Xiu-Ying Liu, a gourmet who has tried most of the world's delicacies; Sung-Ming Kao, the first Taiwanese to win a Czech Republic Friendship Award; and Dao-Jie Chen, chairman of Art Museum Parkway Management Committee. This November, iSee Taiwan Foundation has invited all three of them to recommend some of their favorite tourist spots in Taichung.

As a food columnist for Commonwealth Magazine, Liu introduces visitors to a number of exclusive dining spots offering fresh live seafood and handmade udon noodles, plus a cafe opened by one of the judges of an international coffee brewing competition.
In Taichung, there are many historic structures built during the Japanese colonial era, such as the former Taichung Bureau of Civil Affairs, Taichung Municipal Government Building, and Taichung Penitentiary. Cultural expert Kao will tell you all the stories behind these old buildings.

Chen, head of the Art Museum Parkway management committee, will lead you on an exploration of Taichung's beauty. After you make a violin-shaped clock in the morning and try some healthy food at noon, he will show you how to enjoy Zhongxin Market from another angle.

The International Spotlight Central Region program, jointly sponsored by the ROC Tourism Bureau and iSee Taiwan Foundation, aims to make central Taiwan a "La Mere Terre"-- a place of fine tastes and a joyful atmosphere. To highlight Taichung as a destination for fun, three more program events will be taking place in November and December.
