Taichung City Cash Voucher Raffle Contest

1. Event Details
a. Time: Jan. 18-March 29, 2009
b. Detailed summary:
(a) The Taichung City Government will begin distributing central government cash vouchers from January 18 this year, and residents can pick up their vouchers at their designated distribution venues. In addition, recipients will receive a city government raffle ticket at the distribution venue, for the opportunity to win prizes listed below.

Anyone who spends a total of NT$3,000 or more in cash vouchers within Taichung city (purchases must be paid by voucher; this value does not include payments by cash or credit card) can take his/her original uniform invoices or receipts and attach them to the inside page of the raffle ticket, filling out an attached questionnaire and providing other required personal information. The ticket should then be folded in half (to keep inside information private) and put into raffle collection boxes at locations noted below. The other way to enter the raffle is mailing raffle participation materials to P.O.Box 130, Taichung Post Office. All submitted uniform invoices will be donated to public charities after the event finishes; entering this raffle implies consent to this donation.

(b) Everyone can visit the Taichung City Government's official website to download the raffle event registration form, or obtain their raffle tickets at the raffle box locations. Both sides of this form need to be photocopied and participants are welcome to do this on their own. (Please use the usual A4 white-colored photocopying paper, any other special papers or papers with colors will be considered invalid.)

(c) Any uniform invoice submitted with the raffle application should show the characters "cash voucher". If you have a receipt, a duplicate uniform invoice, or a triplicate uniform invoice, ask the store or business for their company stamp (showing Business Uniform Number, company name, and address) and also remember to ask the store to write "purchased with cash voucher" and Voucher's Serial Number on the receipt, the duplicate uniform invoice, or the triplicate uniform invoice. (Please note that all invoices will be verified for tax reasons, so forgery is forbidden.)

(d) Raffle box locations: Taichung City Hall, Sogo Department Store, Chung Yo Department Store, Shinkong Mitsukoshi Department Store, Taichung Central mall, Tiger City mall, and Park Lane by CMP mall, the Central Taiwan Lantern Festival venue (at Wenxin Forest Park/Fulfillment Amphitheater, from 2/2-2/15); Carrefour, RT Mart, Costco, Geant, and Taichung Nova Mall. Other locations include OK, Hi-Life, 7-11 and Family Mart convenience stores (all locations listed above refer to those in Taichung city only). Within Taichung city shopping districts, raffle collection boxes will also be at: JingMing 1st Street (73, JingMing 1st St.; E-A Cafe), DaLong Road shopping area (12, DaLong Rd.; Tapa-Tapa Spanish Restaurant), the Taichung Electronics Street (95, LuChuan W. St.; Jinchu Stereo Shop), JiGuang Shopping District (128, JiGuang St.; Da Lin Cloth Shop), Art Museum Parkway (55, WuChuan W. 4th St.; Stone Food Restaurant), TianJin Road fashion district (26, TianJin Rd., Sec.2; Da Jia Boutique), Dakeng Scenic Area (48-3, DongShan Rd., Sec. 2; Dong Dong Taro Sweets), YiZhong Street shopping area (95, YiZhong St.; A Sir Tea Shop), Fengchia University shopping area (431, FuXing Rd.; Jing Hua Optometrist), ZiYou Road shopping area (94, ZiYou Rd., Sec 2; Sunshine Plaza), ChangPing Road shoe shopping area (63, ChangPing Rd., Sec. 1; Dongdi Men's Boutique). (e) If your raffle ticket was not in a drawing for any given week, you are still eligible for the following week's raffle event.

(f) Raffle ticket drawings will be broadcast live on SET News TV channel.

2. Prizes and drawing times
(a) Five Taichung-Hangzhou direct flight plane tickets (including four days of accommodation): Drawing on 2/2
(b) Three automobiles: Drawing for one car on 2/15, 3/1 and 3/15
(c) One residential house: Names of 10 finalists will be announced on 3/22 with a final drawing for the big winner on 3/29

3. Raffle drawing location: To be announced by the Taichung City Government at a later date. The raffle drawing sites will be broadcast live on SET News TV channel, and will be notarized by professional lawyers and accountants.

4. What to do if you are a winner
(a) After being notified that you are a winner, your receipts or invoices will be sent to a professional lawyer or accountant to notarize authenticity. You will by asked to pick up your prize in person at the Taichung City Government, and asked to present your identification in order to verify that you truly qualify for your winnings.
(b) All raffle winners must pay related taxes as specified by the law.
(c) Prizes may not be exchanged for cash or other prizes. The winner of the house may not change ownership deed and may not sell the property within two years of winning.
(d) If a winner is found to have forged receipts or invoices, they will be disqualified and required to return the prize to the government. Those not able to return prizes must pay the equal amount in cash, and accept related legal liabilities.

5. Others: For other event details, please visit the Taichung City Government website for updated information. In the event that a natural disaster or other reason causes the raffle to be cancelled or delayed, the city government reserves the right to revise event details and conditions.
