Daniel Goleman, professional psychiatrist and author of "Emotional Intelligence", predicted that "those born in the late 1950s will have a new way of living, as well a new style for family and upbringing". As these "baby boomers", people born between 1946 and 1964, reach retirement, they are redefining the term. Filled with confidence and vitality, most baby boomers have received a good education and are generally more active than generations of the past.

On July 11, the Taiwan Architects' Association Taichung branch, in league with the Department of Economic Development and the Real Estate Development Association of Taichung, will hold a series of seminars and workshops at the Splendor Hotel that will take an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities facing retirees today.
