COMPASS MAGAZINE, April 2001. VOL. 8 ISSUE 4

COVER STORY:
TAICHUNG GETS A TASTE OF THE WORLD: A Brief Introduction to the International Side of City Dining

JORG ROSSOW
Owner/Manager, Joric German Deli
Hometown: Pritzwalk, Germany
Age: 38
Cuisine Specialties: German
Time in Taiwan: 11 years
Previous Work Experience: Working for a German service company in Taipei, then in Taichung

What Brought You to Taiwan: 'I was transferred here by the company I was working for.'

Favorite Dishes I Offer: Hamburger steak ('like a meatball that is fried, with mashed potatoes and cabbage') and Brockwurst sausage

Favorite Dish I Don't Offer: 'I like a lot of Chinese food, especially when there are several kinds of dishes on the table.  That's very different from eating in Europe.'

Best Thing About Running A Taichung Restaurant: 'I can eat my favorite foods all the time.'

Worst Thing About Running A Taichung Restaurant: 'I import all of the products in the deli myself.  Importing can be a headache especially when you have 60 different items in a shipment.'

Favorite Non-Work Activity: Working on the computer, surfing the Internet

Favorite Other Restaurant: La Terrasse
